Monarch butterfly surprise

After assembly today we received a lovely surprise.

We found an empty chrysalis and a monarch butterfly hanging upside down drying it's wings. 

It has no big black spots on it's wings so it is a female. Maybe it will lay some eggs nearby.

A new butterfly

We found a monarch butterfly at the top of our swan plant this morning.

 

It was really friendly and climbed up someone's arm all the way to his ear.

We took the butterfly outside and put it on a flower so it could get some nectar to eat.

 

We respect all living things and treat them gently.

Butterfly mystery

The chrysalis is empty.

We found it hanging on the corner of the rainbow fabric.
