Thinking about 'being safe'

  • we walk inside and on the verandah
  • we use gentle hands when playing
  • we use kind and quiet voices
  • we listen to the teachers carefully
  • we push the chairs in
  • we pick up things up off the floor
  • we look where we are going
  • we take turns with the equipment
  • we stay with our friends in the Junior playground
  • We tell the duty teacher if we don't feel safe

Keep trying

We kept trying today with:
looking through prisms...

smudging pastels together to
make secondary colours...
using the prism in the sunlight to make a rainbow...

Great perseverance!

Primary colour exploration

Today we explored the primary colours.
We used sponges, paintbrushes, forks, feathers, and cardboard stamps to mix the primary colours together.

The new colours made from mixing two primary colours together are called secondary colours.
Red and yellow = orange

Red and blue = purple

Yellow and blue = green

Responsibility

We are learning to be responsible in the cloakroom.
We will keep our bags zipped closed.
We will use our manners to say 'excuse me'.
We will wait our turn to go in there.

Vowels

If a word starts with a vowel then we put 'an' before it, instead of 'a'.

an apple                             a pig
an egg                                a cat
an insect                             a dog
an octopus                          a pencil
an umbrella                         a book

What will go at the front of:

__ mat               __ ice-cream     __ pen      __ old man
