Learning about St John ambulance

Today Room 12 went to the 'multi-media' room to learn about St John ambulance.

The colours of St John ambulance uniforms are yellow and green and they have a cross design on them.

What sound does an ambulance make?

We learnt about the three different emergency services.

Can you name them all?

We learnt that there were beds with seatbelts in the back of the ambulance to keep people safe on the way to the hospital. We saw a stethoscope which is used for checking people's hearts, breathing and stomachs.

 We saw an oxygen mask that gives people oxygen to help them breathe.

We felt the oxygen on our hands and faces.

We practised using a phone to ring for an ambulance.

We need to take 2 big deep breaths before we dial 1, go 1, go 1.
